We have had many questions in regards to what the difference is between a Hungarian Goose Down duvet and a Siberian Goose Down duvet.
The simple answer is that the Siberian Goose Down duvets on the whole are slightly better in terms of quality than the Hungarian Goose Down duvet.
Here are a few of reasons why:
- Siberian goose down is slightly better quality than Hungarian goose down, meaning the duvet itself is a little loftier.
- Less filling is needed. For example, a 9 tog Siberian Goose Down duvet doesn’t need quite as much filling as a 9 tog Hungarian Goose Down duvet to generate the same warmth and therefore, being a little lighter.
- The casing has a slightly higher thread count for the Siberian Goose Down duvets. Again, just adding a little more quality than Hungarian Goose Down duvets.
So, Are Hungarian Goose Down Duvets Worth Buying?
Again, the short answer is yes. They offer very good value for money for people that like excellent quality, but at more affordable prices. Additionally, they also come with a 10-year manufacturer guarantee, so we are confident in the product lasting.
On the other hand, if you are looking to buy a duvet that has a little more quality (both feel and finish), then Siberian Goose Down duvets are a fabulous choice.
Every Customer is Different
Unfortunately, there is no ‘one size fits all’. Each customer is different in regards to expectations when it comes to what they want, whether that maybe value for money, quality etc. Choosing a duvet that is right for you usually comes down to personal preference. Some customers prefer a slightly heavier duvet and therefore purchase a Hungarian Goose Down duvet, for example.
The best way to find out which you prefer is to order one type and if you are not completely satisfied, try another.
